Dark circles may extend on to the cheeks leading to pigmentary demarcation lines. However if it is only on one side any trauma or underlying ophthalmologic cause should be ruled out with an Ophthalmologist’s opinion apart from a Dermatologist’s consultation. Topical cream/serum containing vitamin C, retinol, haloxyl, kojic acid , glycolic acid, etc in lower concentrations are recommended. Sunscreens, using sun glasses, anti glare screens on desktop/laptop etc may prevent further worsening of the condition. Laser toning with Q-switched yag laser, mild chemical peels may help.
