Could I Have PCOS at 16 After Irregular Periods?

Patient's Query

Like I am 16 year old teenager who had regular periods before but for the first time missed it in August then got it in September and again missed in August and is worried thinking maybe she has pcos or pcod

Answered by Dr. Himali Patel

It's normal for your periods to be slightly irregular during your teenage years. The occasional missed period is not necessarily an indicator of PCOS or PCOD. This may be because of hormone changes, stress, or lifestyle factors. If you're worried about it, talking to a gynecologist can help you understand what's going on and how to deal with it.

I want a good gynaecologist for my pregnancy journey

Female | 23

Choosing the right gynecologist is essential for a healthy pregnancy. Look for a qualified obstetrician-gynecologist who specializes in maternal care and has good reviews from patients. Key aspects of your journey include regular check-ups to monitor your health and that of your baby. Typical symptoms to be aware of include fatigue, nausea, and mood changes, all of which are common. It's crucial to address any concerns or unusual symptoms promptly.

does nipple discharge mean breast cancer?

Female | 13

Nipple discharge may also imply breast cancer or non-cancerous conditions. You are required to visit a doctor if the discharge from your nipple is bloody, or spontaneous. This should be done by a breast specialist or gynecologist who can give the proper diagnosis and treatment plan.

My period is late for 13days and then i take unwanted 72tablet

Female | 22

If you have concerns about potential pregnancy or irregular periods, consider taking a pregnancy test or consulting with a healthcare professional for personalized advice. Also keep in mind that unwanted 72 is not a regular form of birth control and should only be used as an emergency measure.

My period is 20 days late. I have never missed a period. I had a late bloody discharge gassy nauseous headache but pregnancy test are showing negative. I also have an IUD I’ve had it for about a year and a half now and my cycle always stays the same.

Female | 18

When your menstrual period is 20 days late, and you have such symptoms as gaspiness, nauseousness, headache, haemorrhagic pastula – it’s high time yo seek a gynecologist. The negative pregnancy test result together with the IUD you have may signify that there is an underlying medical condition which needs to be treated. You should visit a gynecologist specialist to receive the right treatment and get the correct diagnosis.
