Surgery is to be done to get the disease out of body and prevent it's spread elsewhere in body. There is always a chance of spread of disease in Colon cancer, so regular follow ups with oncologist are very important to check any spread. Age factor does matter in case of recovery post surgery. Chemotherapy always has mild to moderate side effects. Nausea, Vomiting, hyperacidity and weakness are common side effects.
