Why hasn't my blood donation mark faded yet?

Patient's Query

I am a 33-year-old man, and I donated blood on January 20th. After the donation, A small, light brown dot appeared on the area where the needle was inserted. I’ve donated blood 5 times so far, and no such dots have appeared before. When I asked the blood bank about it, they told me that it would disappear on its own. However, it still hasn’t completely faded. It has been 52 days so far. My questions are: Will this dot take more days or months to completely fade? Is this normal, or should I be worried?

Answered by Dr. Archit Aggarwal

It’s understandable to be concerned about the appearance of a dot after your blood donation. Such marks can result from minor bruising or the body's response to the needle. Typically, these spots fade within a few weeks, but occasionally, they may linger longer. Since you’ve noticed it for 52 days, it’s advisable to monitor it. If you experience any changes, such as increasing size, pain, or redness, please consult a dermatologist for an in-person evaluation. Generally, these skin changes resolve without complications, but a doctor can provide reassurance and further guidance.

I am 26 years old female and had acne scar on forehead and near by eye and had dark spots on both near by eyes.

Female | 26

Acne scars on your forehead might be the case with you and dark spots around your eye region as well, it seems. The surface of the skin is said to be deteriorated by the scars, while dark spots may result from sun exposure or overly treated skin. If you want to repair your skin, you can choose products with firm yet mild ingredients such as retinol or Vitamin C. Sunblock will protect your skin and will be a part of your sun safety precaution.

Female | 22

Improvements can be seen in the majority of people after four months, but some may not have complete results. Scars usually get better with this treatment, but they may not disappear completely. Keeping your expectations in check is important, and you should be patient. Make sure you follow your doctor's instructions for the successful treatment.

I am 22 years old..female...i have pores on my face since 3 years...please recommend me any medical cream

Female | 22

Your skin may have enlarged pores due to genetics, excess oil, or not cleaning properly. To help reduce them, try using a cream with salicylic acid or retinol, as these ingredients can gradually shrink pores. Additionally, wash your face regularly and protect your skin from the sun.

To get to the root of the problem, I suggest you pay a visit to a dermatologist who specializes in skin-related issues. In respect to that, protect yourself from bacteria and viruses by washing your hands regularly, avoiding touching your face frequently, and staying healthy to help the condition of your skin.

Salmon patches on her face from her birth so i m worried about and how its solve problem

Female | 3months

Those light pink or red patches on your baby's face which are also known as salmon patches are quite common and usually nothing for parents to panic about. They occur when small blood vessels are near the skin. No need for treatment as they usually disappear on their own by the time the child is 1 to 2 years. Simply keep the area clean and protect against direct sunlight.
